The Blue Marine Resort & Spa

If you've been longing for some 5 Star luxury, but at a price you can afford, this Hotel of the Week has come along at just the right time: the Blue Marine Resort & Spa won't disappoint.

Moments from the beach and boasting two salt-water pools along with a gym and several bars, you can rest assured that a break here will leave you de-stressed and in the holiday mood. The whole family will love the facilities on offer, too.

The resort is beside the popular area of Aghios Nikolaos, on the east coast of Crete, offering stunning views and easy access to the coastline. Agios Nikolaos has three museums to visit, holding important artefacts and crafts, and there's also a marina to be explored.

The Blue Marine itself overlooks Mirabello Bay, where local legend suggests that the Goddess Athena bathed. Crete in general has plenty of attractions, from archaeological sites to walking the Samaria Gorge or discovering caves.

A restaurant with a view: don't miss it

The Blue Marine has plenty to offer its guests, including two restaurants - the Olive Tree and the Blue Aegean, both of which have tempting dishes. The Olive Tree specialises in Mediterranean food, boasting incredible sea views, whilst the Blue Aegean has a buffet service of Greek and international food as well as regular live cooking events. Children and vegetarians are both well catered for, with lots of choice, and guests can opt for an all-inclusive stay if they wish. Bar-wise, there's a poolside bar, the main Panorama bar and a Disco bar to keep you going throughout the night.

Children are well catered for at the Blue Marine

A typical room.

Importantly, the hotel has a kids' club for those aged 4-12, so mum and dad can have some alone time if they want to, and there's a babysitting service as well. The children's playground will keep them busy for hours, or they can head to the children's swimming pool.

Anyone for a massage?

Picture-perfect relaxation

Leisure facilities include tennis, archery, volleyball and even giant chess, whilst there's free Wi-fi for those of you who just fancy chilling out and sharing your holiday snaps with people back home. Of course, the spa is one of the Blue Marine's main attractions, and for good reason: treatments include mud therapies, Jacuzzi, Turkish bath, massage and sauna. The heated indoor thalassotherapy pool is also free for guests between 1st and 31st October!

With so much to see and do, the Blue Marine Resort & Spa is the obvious choice for luxury lovers who want to control their budget on a holiday to Crete. So, what are you waiting for?
